The word "TEAM" to G-R-A-B is more than coming together to play a game. "TEAM is a mindset! It’s sweat, discipline, unity, and respect. At GRAB ELITE, team means building something bigger than yourself."

G.Y.B.L SUCCESS OVER THE YEARS
GRAB Youth Basketball League (G.Y.B.L) developed from the love, care and passion of the game. COVID-19 put a halt to youth engagement, a decline in grades and studies, and a spike in weight gain. With support from the City of Durham, we grew from 4 teams to 8, adding elementary players. GYBL allowed an intensive summer which engaged students from the time school got out until the time school went back in.
The development of the S.A.F.E program is designed to grow a group of players beyond the court. The "Focused Environments" gives the STUDENT ATHLETE the tools and essentials to perform on and off the court with a developmental plan and mentorship.
We would like to thank EVERYONE who helped make G.Y.B.L a success over the years and
WELCOME to the S.A.F.E TEAM AND SUPPORT!

"COACH TEE"
Jamie McDonald "Coach Tee" is more than a "COACH" to the game of basketball. Her passion for the game is beyond the court and that's what make her a PERFECT fit for the GRAB program. Coach Tee coached the "BULLDAWGS" all 3 years of the G.Y.B.L seasons being a contender in the championship. Coach Tee held the title as "NUMBER ONE" point guard in the state during Hillside's High School run to the championship for multiple years, but she led the HORNETS to the win the 1996 State Championship. Her model of creating champions has always been in her and transferring it to the GRAB players is her main focus.

SUPPORTED BY: CHRIS KENANPastor Eric has opened his arms, heart and doors to the community. His eagerness to see local programs and organization have a safe place to help make a difference is beyond words. I can honestly say I do not know exactly what we would do if we did not have is loyalty to GRAB and other organizations.
Kids Remarks: --We really appreciate Pastor Eric letting us practice 3 days a week. --Pastor Eric really supports GRAB and it shows through the access of safe places to do things. --We feel safe when we are on the grounds of the church. |
GO Durham and Neighborhood Improvement ServicesFor the last 3 years and counting GO Durham and NIS has been the front runners for our city and allowing some amazing organizations who are truly making a difference in the lives of our residents here in the CITY OF DURHAM. GO Durham and NIS is constantly looking for ways to make the life and living easier. They are ALWAYS listening so all we have to do is SPEAK!
G-R-A-B could not have birthed G.Y.B.L without both of you. I have met some amazing, wonderful people along the way. Because of these 2 key tools in the city, G-R-A-B will continue to change, grow and enhance the lives of our youth and families in the "BULL CITY". Thank for allowing be to bring a vision to LIFE! |
